It's our 20th anniversary!
Our first loaf of bread came out of the oven in June of 1998. The bakery was in the old button factory on Islington Street in Portsmouth. We have locations in the Seacoast communities of Portsmouth, Exeter and Greenland.
We’re a family owned business named after our three sons Max, Eli and Ollie. We hope you enjoy our bread as much as we enjoy baking it and serving it up to you!
It all starts with our wheat, the foundation of our baked goods. Our certified organic hard red wheat berries are grown for us in northern Montana. We mill our own flour in our Portsmouth bakery insuring the best tasting, most nutritious bread available. We then deliver the fresh bread to our other café locations daily. After all, it’s the bread that makes the sandwich! With our scratch made breads, house made spreads and select meats, cheeses, and veggies we craft our yummy sandwiches. We bake our cookies, muffins, scones from scratch, with ingredients you'd have in your own kitchen. Fresh salads are made to order and are served with a slice of our bread. We serve soup when the weather gets cold, with a slice of our bread to dunk.
What’s a café without great coffee? We partner with our local Portsmouth, NH roaster Port City Coffee 100% natural, sustainable coffee. Whether straight brewed coffee, or your favorite specialty barista made beverage, it happens all day in our cafes.

Our breakfast sandwiches are made with free-range eggs from Nellie's.
